Zlydzens are hazardous creatures in Belarusian mythology. These mythological characters often live under the masonry stove. In the fairy-tales and myths of Belarusian nation Zlydzens are usually described as small, humpbacked and nasty creatures that remind one of cats and dogs at the same time. They often wear big boots and hats with earflaps.These creatures are engaged in all sorts of harmful and damaging activities and ruin everything around them, quickly trying to make a mess. They are sometimes drawn to the homes of individuals who want to become rich quickly and of greedy owners. They play their nasty tricks in groups because, like many other small and harmful creatures, they are cowards and are afraid to act alone. When the owner leaves the house, Zlydzens emerge from their shelter and make a mess. Cries of Zlydzens can be heard all around a village.

Les Zlydzens sont des créatures légendaires de la mythologie biélorusse. Ils vivent sous les poêles en maçonnerie et sont considérés comme des créatures dangereuses. Ce sont de petites créatures bossues et méchantes ressemblant à un chat et un chien en même temps. Ils portent souvent de grandes bottes et un chapeau à oreillettes. Les Zlydzens effectuent des actions nuisibles en groupes car ils sont lâches et ont peur d'agir seul. Ils s'en prennent aux maisons de personnes qui veulent s'enrichir ou à celles dont les propriétaires sont avides. Lorsque les propriétaires sortent de leur maisons, ils commencent à faire des dégâts, ils endommagent les ustensiles, versent le lait des pichets et jettent des casseroles et leur cri se fait entendre dans tout le village.
